A day dedicated to the purity of love, the bond that a husband and his wife share. The loyalty and truthfulness with which a wife fasts all day without even having a drop of water, for her husband’s well being is something that cannot be defined in words. And even after years since it first started, it is celebrated with a lot of spirituality, the ancient beliefs, and traditions.
Karva Chauth is a one-day festival celebrated by Hindu women, which is observed from sunrise to the moonrise. This fast is done for the long and a safe life of their spouse. Married women fast for their husbands and sometimes even unmarried women join in order to get the desired husband.
But modernization hasn’t left this festival untouched either. Women have found ways to make this festival memorable and fun for them. Like any other festival the fun element is added to this one as well. Women are organizing events, get-togethers on this occasion. All the ladies gather with their “Pooja ki Thali” at the event venue, all dressy and glowing!! This is an all ladies festival so they usually enjoy among themselves.
There are big gatherings on this day where hundreds of ladies participate, all decked up, waiting for the moon. These events have games, and various other activities to keep the fasting ladies busy. The fast gets over with the moonrise. The woman sees the moon through a sieve and then sees his man through it. this is followed by a couple of traditions that women follow.
Karva Chauth is a festival that has a lot of romance, glamor, fun, and fasting attached to it. This year also the ladies are organizing an event to celebrate their love.
