“SOWO – Be The Change”

SOWO, which came into existence with a collaboration of great ideas in 2015 by the dynamic women of Raipur, is a trust that aims at helping the underprivileged sections of the society, primarily towards the field of education and women empowerment to help mending the flaws of the society, having more than 100 enrolments in its centre working towards uplifting girl education.

SOWO was brought to life by Mrs. Priyanka Shukla, who strongly believes in the saying that “God had given you two hands, one for yourself and the second for helping others”. SOWO has always been conducting various activities with a cause such as art-n-craft, dance, spoken English, mehendi, personality and skill development for educating and teaching such girls to be independent where the members voluntarily help students to polish their talents and encourages them to pursue their dreams.

As SOWO turned two on 4th August 2017, it held ‘A Fund Raising Event – A Good Deed For Those Who Need’, at Hotel Wood Castle, Near Magneto The Mall, from 1:00 pm onwards, where the SOWO womanhood showed their unity by striking the balance of white kurtis and salwar with orange and yellow colored dupattas, hence giving the attire message of ‘unity in diversity’. The people there attended the event, played housie TAMBOLA, and witnessed the majestic evening, which was supported by over 1000 women and their family standing by their shoulders.

The TAMBOLA winners got exciting prizes like Honda Activa, Apple i-pad, LED television, Microwave, Refrigerator, Godrej lockers, Induction cook top etc. in the respective ranks. Also the girls, who are supported by SOWO, gave an overwhelming and mesmerizing dance performance and also showcased their creativity through art-n-craft exhibition along with wonderful singing performances by the artists present there.

Priyanka Shukla (the founder member of SOWO) along with Astha Khanuja, Simran Hora, Suruchi Nathani, Sushma Nathani, Sonam Atlani, Rinku Passary, Kanishka Talreja, Prachi Agrawal, Neha Jain, Surabhi Agrawal, Pooja Ahuja were the few members among many, who volunteered the entire event, sponsored by Hotel Wood Castle, Suvijita, Laxmi Electronics, Tony & Guy Raipur, Bansuri, Easy Bazaar, Sikh Forum Raipur, Delhi Public School, New Bharat Tent House, Sporty Beans, The Grooners, Uniglobe Five Star Travel, SportyBeans Raipur, ​Kewal Shanti Tours and Services Pvt. Ltd., Shri Sardarmal Sand Charitable Trust and many more.

The members of SOWO connected to show various talents via putting up interesting and different kind of catchy stalls wherein the major participants were Sugar Blush by Niharika, NC – The Boutique Café by Nayan and Chaitali, The Learning Tree by Rinku Passary, Iron Tailor by Puja Passary, Linara by Neha Sharma, Urban Fresh by Shanul, Yash and Himanshu, Unfolding by Tanmay Patel, Kadambari Achaar and Masale by Vandana Maheshwari, Purple9 by Riddhi, etc.
