Pramod Sahu :The man with magic in his hands
A true artist is not one who is inspired, but one who inspires others. Pramod Sahu is one such artist who is a true inspiration. He was not from a very sound financial background. He had his struggles and responsibilities in place. Since childhood he had an inclination towards art and had a creative mindset. At the age of 7 years he used to watch his sister, Veena Sahu making rangolis and himself tried doing it.
At the age of 15 he started learning Rangoli from Chandrakant Sahu and was very inspired by him. He had a downfall in terms of studies in his 10th board exams and so he shifted his focus on art but did not give up on studies though. In 11th – 12th, he along with studies participated in total 40 competitions and won 30 out of them. He got lots of appreciation and motivation from it. He started taking drawing classes at home. After his schooling, he could not afford to go out for further studies so he tried doing B.Com but couldn’t find his interest in it and finally settled with B.A. He then did 2-D animation from his savings. Jyotirmoy Das is his guru and taught him alot. He then after working hard for 3.5 years formed a team named Chhapaak Art Samudaya. Under Chhapaak, He teaches students and then later they join the team and they take rangoli projects and participate in competitions.
He participated in Pune Tattoo festival and made the All India Gold Award Winning Rangoli “Kisanha” which he dedicated to his sister. He made this rangoli in 31 hours and completed it around 1.30 am at night and had 150 people waiting to see his complete masterpiece. He was also selected in 100 best from 30,000 participants for @Kazan World Festival of youth and students-2017.Sochi,Russia held every 4 years.
Inspite of so much of success he is a very down-to-earth person and a gem of a person at heart. He sponsors art education of children in need in his institute as well as all over India. He is a culture lover and wants of promote our culture through his art.
He is also looking forward to many more international level competitions that he has submitted his work for. Our team wishes him all the luck and congratulates him for making Chhattisgarh proud.
