“No gain without pain” the proverb is proved by Mrs.Manju Jha .
A lady today as strong as rock in her determination, this line is truly suitable for Manju Jha, the yoga specialist of Raipur. Her journey started from Bastar, a small town in Chhattisgarh. She grew up there and completed her schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya. She has always been a sport enthusiast from her school days, and she got selected twice for nationals in kho-kho during her high school days, but soon after, she got married at the early age of 20 and since then, had been held with many responsibilities.
However, in her 30’s she took a major turn and decided to live a life of her choice. With that determination she completed her bachelor’s in arts and later at the age of 35, she aimed for her post-graduation choosing history as her major.
Just after completing M.A., she witnessed a major setback in her life. She met with an accident in which she suffered a major spinal cord injury, where doctors prescribed surgery as the only option left.
Even in that tough time she didn’t lose her determination and decided to mold her life in a positive way. Being a student of Kendriya Vidyalya, she did had the habit of practicing yoga. When she was suggested complete bed rest, she started practicing easy yoga steps (as she had heard that Yoga could heal even incurable disease). She managed to heal herself with constant practice of yoga. At last all her injuries were cured by yoga and that inspired her to become a yoga instructor.
Students from her Yoga classes are performing at international level and have won many awards. Her sessions are organized at ‘sehatmandi’ (earlier matargashti), the famous early Sunday morning health event in Marine Drive, Raipur. She also has a YouTube channel named ‘Mrityunjay Yoga’, so that she could connect with people easily.
Her achievements are difficult to mention in words. Presently she is a guest faculty at Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University. She also manages private classes at her place. Her free Yoga campaign named ‘Yoga for everyone’ is organized at various institutions and societies.
Her motto is to make people fit, mentally and physically.
“मौन से योग और योग से मोक्ष की प्राप्ति होती है ।” (quoted by Mrs. Manju Jha)
