“Life doesn’t come with a manual, it comes with a Mother.” – Anonymous
Simple Indian Mom aka Mrs Menaka Bharthi, is a mother of two energetic and jovial boys. Being a parent herself helped her in the journey that saw her transform from a mother to a parenting consultant, an owner and enthusiast of organic food products and a blogger. She feels that all one needs for better parenting is a happy soul and a little practice of mindfulness.
An agricultural microbiologist by profession, she believes in living close to nature and deals with all the good microbes that make food healthier, chemical free and nutritious along with making the earth a better place to live in. Simple Indian Mom was started in the year 2008 as a platform for her to share her knowledge and expertise; and what started as a hobby soon took the form of her full time career. Her journey had a rocky start with the lack of technical knowledge being one of the main hurdles. She had to rely on Google at every step. The journey although rocky and slow, became the base for her strong conceptual hold and once she had conceptualized the idea of SIM Organics, her blogging journey formed the backbone of her business.
Mrs. Bharthi’s biggest support through her journey has been her husband, who himself hold a PhD in Agriculture specializing in Plant Pathology. He was the one who motivated and pushed her into adopting the natural and organic lifestyle, more as a service to mankind than service to the self. Mrs.Bharthi hopes to create awareness among people of growing one’s own food, supporting local farmers and purchasing locally produced organic food. SIM manufactures and specializes in 10 super foods including Spirulina Powder, Chlorella Powder, Chia seeds and Hemp seeds to name a few.
Mrs Menaka Bharthi feels that Simple Indian Mom is a reflection of knowledge, wisdom and the learning through the journey of her life. She says that parenting is an art that she has learnt and bettered with her children and it is a quest of becoming a mother that helps her in consulting mothers across the world in methods of mindful parenting.
