Bai is an exponent of Pandavani, a traditional performing art form, from Chhattisgarh, in which she enacts tales from the Mahabharata in Chhattisgarhi, with musical accompaniments. She has been awarded the Padma Shri in 1987, and Padma Bhushan in 2003, besides 1995 Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1995, given by Sangeet Natak Akademi, India’s National Academy of Music, Dance & Drama.

OMKAR DAS MANIKPURI
Omkar Das Manikpuri (born 1970) is an Indian stage and film actor. He is a native of Brindanagarm, currently residing in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, who has been a member of folk-theatre doyen Habib Tanvir’s, Naya Theatre company for several years. Manikpuri made his Hindi film debut as a male lead in Aamir Khan productions’ Peepli Live in 2010.
Ajit Pramod Kumar Jogi (born 29 April 1946) is an Indian politician, who served as the first chief minister of the state of Chhattisgarh, India. He was a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) political party.
Kishore Sahu (22 November 1915 – 22 August 1980) was an Indian actor, film director, screenwriter and producer from Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh. He appeared in 22 films between 1937 and 1980. He directed 20 films between 1942 and 1974.

Vidya Charan Shukla (2 August 1929 – 11 June 2013) from Raipur Chhattisgarh was a noted Indian politician and Minister from the Indian National Congress party. His political career spanned of almost six decades. He was a close associate of Indira Gandhi.
