#TRAVELHACKS  for your #TRAVELDIARIES

While we all love traveling, most of our travel gets cut down due to the heavy expenses we must bear for a better Instagram profile. Your #travelgoals and #wanderlust must not remain at bay anymore.  We, have a few tips to cut down on the budget because traveling can be pretty heavy on pockets and we certainly don’t believe in splurging our hard-earned money on unwanted things. Let’s try to save as much as we can while traveling with these few #travelhacks.

As Indians most of you must be aware of a few tips mentioned. Make sure you keep in mind all of the others before you plan your next trip.

  1. Most of our budget money goes into stay. Even if you are staying at a basic hotel, it will cost way more than a hostel would. If you are traveling with family, you can check out rented apartments on websites like Airbnb which will give you a private stay and will be light on your pockets.

If you are a solo traveler having at least 15 days of trip planned, you could go through options such as Workaway that gives you a local accommodation free of cost and in turn you must do a little work for them. You can pick your choice of work.

  1. Food is the second most important calculation that ironically eats on your budget. Instead of taking all 3 meals at a restaurant, try to cook at least one meal by yourself. It can be something as simple as a salad or some 2 minute noodles. This will prove to be a great budget savior. Apart from that, make sure to carry some safety food in times of urgency like khakhras or ready to cook packets of  poha, upma, curries, etc. You should also carry a few nutrition bars for they occupy very less space and are stomach filling.
  1. If you are traveling in the west, commutation is going to suck the money out of your budget. But the good part is that they have highly convenient public transport like buses, trains and shared taxis. Though it will take you a while to get used to it, trust me they will work as very effective cost savers. Public transports are also far more reliable and time saving.
  1. This is something not only Indians do, but is a rule followed universally. We are meticulous planners, and grab the cheapest fare flights and spend all that money on shopping instead.
  1. It is the thumb rule of travel to pack less. You don’t want to skip on any essentials like the sunscreen, medicine, first aid kit, woolens, the right kind of shoes, hats or umbrellas but the number of garments that you carry must be minimal. A lot of times we don’t realize how much we have packed and that can lead to excess luggage payment. You must always keep in mind the local goodies that you are going to carry back with you.
  2. If your minimal is also more than the amount of weight you are permitted to carry, make sure to buy weight in advance.

Go plan that dream destination of yours. Don’t let money come in between you and your #traveldiaries because as Mark Twain said “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.”
