After a slow start, polling has picked up at 14 constituencies in the Durg division, with 28% turnout recorded till 1 pm. The District Election Office said that the Daundi Lohara Assembly constituency has registered the highest voter turnout until of 48% at 1 pm and the lowest turnout in the division has been recorded at 29% in Saja.

Sports and Youth Welfare Department Director Dharmesh Kumar Sahu informed that as per schedule, State-level hockey tournament for boys and girls would be held on December 2 and 3, Athletics on December 5 and 6, Volleyball on December 8 and 9, Basketball on December 11 and 12, Kho-kho on December 14 and 15, Tug of War and weightlifting on December 16 and 17. He directed all the sports officers of districts not to send the entire team altogether. Instead, send teams as per scheduled dates of the particular event. The students should be sent to Raipur with registration details from each district. In athletics, the winners would only be entertained for the State-level event. The sports officers should ensure that players are not overage, it has been cautioned. The players arriving from different districts would be provided boarding and other facilities in Raipur during their stay.

The first phase of polling held on November 12, 2018, in 18 Assembly seats spread across eight Districts recorded a comparable 76.39 percent polling. During the 2013 Assembly Polls, these 18 Assembly constituencies recorded a 75.53 percent voter turnout. These 18 constituencies lie in the troubled Bastar Division, where the Maoists conserve the largest proportion of their surviving capacities and operational capabilities. After completion of both phases of the 2018 Assembly elections, the average voter turnout stood at 76.35 percent. During 2013, Chhattisgarh had recorded 77 percent of overall polling.
