‘Bhoomi Samman’ – Chhattisgarh Won Prestigious Award For Brilliant Performance in Land Management & Administration

Chhattisgarh was granted the prestigious ‘Bhoomi Samman’ here on 18th July 2023 for its outstanding performance in land management and administration. President Draupadi Murmu presented the award to Chhattisgarh Secretary (Revenue) Neelam Namdev Ekka, Inspector General Registration and Superintendent Stamp Kiran Kaushal, and Director Land Records Ramesh Sharma at a function organized at Vigyan Bhawan here today.

The President presented awards to Bemetara District Collector, Padum Singh Alma and Surguja District Collector, Kundan Kumar of Chhattisgarh along with their team for their commendable work in the field of modernization of land records and archives and digitization of village maps under the Digital India Land Records Modernization Program (DILRMP). Faggan Singh Kulaste, Union Minister of State for Rural Development, and Kapil Moreshwar Patil, Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, and Sonmani Vora, Joint Secretary, Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development were present at the function. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel congratulated the State Revenue Department and Surguja and Bemetara district administrations for this achievement. Under the Digital India Land Records Modernization Program (DILRMP), 95 percent of the works related to land management have been completed in the state.

Similarly, a hundred percent of the work has been done in four areas related to land management, digitization of land records, coordination with the registration office, and establishment of a model record room in the Sarguja and Bemetara districts of the state. Both these districts are among the top districts of the country in land management.
