Chhattisgarh Olympics will start in Chhattisgarh today. It will be inaugurated at Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium in the capital Raipur. In this competition of Gilli Danda, Pittool, Fugdi, Gedi race, and Bhanvra will be organized. This competition will be organized at a total of six levels from rural to state. Rajiv Yuva Mitan club-level events will be held from October 6 to October 11. Its last phase i.e., state level event will be held from December 28 to January 6. In this, 14 types of traditional sports have been included in the team and single category. CG Olympics are divided into three categories. The first category is for people up to the age of 18 years, for those between the age of 18-40 years and the third category is for those above 40 years of age. Both men and women can participate in this competition.
At what level will the competition take place?
Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club is the first level in the six levels of the Chhattisgarhia Olympics. After this, there will be zone-level competition. In this, a zone has been formed by combining eight clubs. After this, there will be a development block-level competition. After this, sports competitions will be organized at the district, divisional, and state levels.
What games will be played
14 sports have been included in the Chhattisgarh Olympics. These games are Gilli-danda, lame run, pitthul, sankhli, kabaddi, kho-kho, tug of war, banti (kancha), cart race, fugdi, bumblebee, 100-meter race, long jump, and billus. This competition will be organized into 3 categories. The first category will be for players up to 18 years of age, the second for the age of 18 to 40, and the third for players above 40. There will be both male and female participants.
In this, Gilli Danda, Pittool, Sankhali, Langdi Daud, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Tug of War, and Banti (Kancha) have been included at the team level. There will be competitions of Billus, Fugdi, Gedi race, Bhanvra, 100-meter race, and long jump in a single category.
Competition time table
Chhattisgarh Olympics will be organized first from October 6 to October 11 at the Rajiv Yuva Mitan club level. Zone level competition will be held from October 15 to October 20, Block level competition will be held from October 27 to November 10. The district-level competition will be organized from 17th November to 26th November and the divisional-level competition will be organized from 5th December to 14th December. The last phase of the Chhattisgarhi Olympics at the state level will be held from 28 December 2022 to 6 January 2023.
Children to the elderly will be able to participate in sports
Children to the elderly will participate in the games. In this, the first class is up to the age of 18 years, the second is for the age group of 18 to 40 years and the third class is for more than 40 years of age. There will be participants in both male and female categories in this competition.
