Chhattisgarhiya Olympics 2023, talents of the state are being groomed with traditional sports, as Bhaura, Banti, and Kho-Kho are getting new identities, starting with Hareli this year. The major decision taken by the government regarding the Chhattisgarh Olympics is that separate committees will be formed by the state government for the sports events to be held at gram panchayats and 146 block levels. Sarpanch will be the convenor of the committees formed at the Gram Panchayat level in the state and the Development Block Officer will be made the convenor of the committees formed at the block level.
Traditional games are all that we have been playing since the time of our forefathers. Games have been passed down from one generation to another generation without the desire for any award or achievement, just for the entertainment of the players. The Chhattisgarh Government began organizing the Chhattisgarh Olympic Games to preserve the old sporting traditions.
About, 14 traditional sports of Chhattisgarh have been included, such as Gilli Danda, Pittool, Sankhali, Langdi Run, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Tug of War, Banti (Kancha), Billas, Fugdi, Gedi Run, Bhanvra, 100 meters race, and long jump. Chhattisgarh Olympics will begin in July 2023 of this year.
