Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel Inspires People to Eat ‘Bore-Baasi’ on International Labour Day

On the occasion of International Labor Day, a labor convention was organized at Science College Ground Raipur, where State CM Bhupesh Baghel along with Labor Minister Shiv Dahariya celebrated Labor Day by eating bore-baasi with the workers.

On the occasion of International Labor Day also known as International Worker’s Day, a labor convention was organized at Science College Ground Raipur, where State CM Bhupesh Baghel along with Labor Minister Shiv Dahariya were present. Along with this, they all celebrated Labor Day by eating bore-baasi and sitting with the workers.

When water is kept in the leftover rice, then after a few hours or in the morning when it becomes stale, it is called bore-baasi. In the morning, it is eaten with pickles, chutney, or whey. It is generally eaten by laborers, farmers, and common citizens of Chhattisgarh, especially during the summer season.

It is believed that by eating bore-baasi, one can get rid of many diseases. It treats dehydration during summer and controls body temperature, blood pressure, and hypertension. By eating this, heat stroke can be avoided, also it helps you in getting better sleep. Rich in nutrition, and effective in many diseases, bore-baasi is being discussed all over the country these days. Though bore-baasi is a Chhattisgarhi dish, it is known by different names in other parts of India as well.

Chhattisgarh’s famous bore-baasi has been researched in America as well. It has been found in research that compared to freshly made rice, it has about 60 percent more calories. Apart from this, it has been found in research that along with great amounts of vitamin B12 in bore-baasi, iron, potassium, and calcium are also present.
