Because of women’s safety, Raipur Police and Maverick Foundation organized the “WALK FOR CAUSE” program on 2nd April 2023, at Marine Drive, Telibandha for women’s empowerment and sensitization towards crime against women. As part of the program, a walk was held from Marine Drive to Ghadi Chowk.
It started at 6 AM from Telibandha Talab (Marine Drive) and ended at Ghadi Chowk. State Women’s Commission Chairperson Kiranmayi Nayak, SSP Prashant Agarwal, ASP Neeraj Chandrakar, ASP West D.C.Patel, ASP Traffic Jayprakash Carpenter, ASP Protocol Pitambar Patel, ASP I.U.C.A.W. Chanchal Tiwari, CSP Azad Chowk Mayank Gurjar (I.P.S.), CSP Civil Line Manoj Dhruv, City Superintendent of Police Urla Avinash Mishra, City Superintendent of Police Atal Nagar Nava Raipur Jitendra Chandrakar, Deputy Superintendent of Police I.U.C.A.W. Lalita Mehar, Senior Officer/Work, including Station House Officer of Raipur Police, Kalinga, Mats, I.T.M., Columbia University, Nursing College, Durga College, N.C.C. Cadets, a total of about 6-7 thousand people including more than 50 organizations participated.
On this occasion, Raipur SSP Prashant Agarwal honored women associated with various departments and organizations. Kiranmayi Nayak, the chairperson of the Women’s Commission, who participated in the program, said that this program is done every year, for the awareness of crimes against women. With this, along with making women aware of criminals, they are informed about their rights. So that women can be given a safe environment in the society.
The people involved in this campaign praised the event organized by Raipur Police. This campaign of the Raipur Police was successful. A pledge was also taken by the people involved in this campaign to follow “WALK FOR CAUSE” (WALK WITH US FOR WOMEN EMPOWERMENT AND SENSITISATION OF CRIME AGAINST WOMEN).
