Ankita Agrawal, an excellent artist, is here with us to share her journey, experiences, and success. In an interview with ‘Reincarnating Raipur’, Ankita reveals a lot about her educational background, artistic journey, and inspiration as well. Ankita Agrawal resides in her hometown Raipur with her family, including her parents. She completed her schooling at RKC in Raipur and graduated in interior design from Mumbai.
By education, she is a professional interior designer, but her true passion lies in artistry. She embarked on her artistic journey soon after college, choosing to follow her heart rather than the conventional path.
When asked about her transition from interior designing to pursuing her passion for art, she reveals, “While my formal education led me into interior designing, my true calling was in art and creativity. During my college years, I realized my passion for art and the desire to become a full-time artist. This prompted me to shift my focus from interior design to artistry. Starting with my first workshop, I faced challenges in introducing the concept of short-duration workshops, which were not widely understood at the time.”
Speaking about her early professional experiences, she said, “The initial days were tough, as I started with minimal resources and faced skepticism from those around me. Establishing the workshop concept was a challenge, as people were accustomed to traditional classes and were skeptical of the value of short-duration workshops. I persevered, always maintaining hope and confidence in my vision. Over time, as the trend of workshops gained popularity, the perception shifted, and people began to appreciate the concept.”
Her journey is truly inspiring. But what made her keep going? On this, she replied, “Art has always been my lifelong passion, ingrained since childhood. While pursuing interior design, I felt a void that art could only fill. This realization fueled my motivation to embark on this journey of sharing the joy of art with others. My most significant achievement is teaching and inspiring thousands through both online and offline workshops. Witnessing participants reconnect with their artistic selves and find joy in the creative process is immensely gratifying.”
Overcoming challenges is integral to growth. When asked her ways to combat it, she said, “One of the challenges was gaining trust and understanding from those around me regarding the workshop concept. Convincing people of the unique value of workshops versus traditional classes was a hurdle. Additionally, there was initial skepticism toward pursuing art as a serious profession. My determination, belief in my vision, and consistent efforts to educate and communicate the essence of workshops played a significant role in overcoming these challenges.”
Coming so long, we requested her to share some of her life lessons, to which she replied, “Stop fixating on outcomes and results. Embrace the present moment, find joy in the process, and appreciate the journey as much as the destination. Art is a reflection of what you feel, not merely what you see.”
So true. She further adds, “Art has the power to bring out the childlike joy and creativity within each of us. Embracing art as a means of self-expression and mindfulness can lead to a more fulfilling and enriched life.”
She delivers her valuable words for individuals aspiring to venture into a similar field: “My advice would be to focus on mastering your skills before embarking on teaching or any creative endeavor. Artistry requires dedication and continuous improvement. Furthermore, prioritize the joy and process of creating art over the materialistic aspect. Art is a journey that offers personal fulfillment beyond monetary gains. Strive to inspire and connect with others through your work. Best wishes.”
Woah! I resonate very deeply with what she is saying.
