Former Captain of the Indian Cricket Team, Padma Bhushan, Kapil Dev, along with Madanlal visited Raipur to inaugurate City Center Shopping Mall. He also inaugurated the cricket turf built on the top floor of the mall.
A large crowd of his fans had gathered in the meantime, some were taking autographs on bats and some on T-shirts. Meanwhile, he also came face to face with his fans. Dharmendra Jain, director of City Center Shopping Mall, welcomed him by presenting a bouquet on behalf of the people of Chhattisgarh. Former cricket captain Kapil Dev expressed that he does not play cricket now but he watches it and enjoys it. Recently he went to England during the World Test Championship, saw Indian players playing there, and gave them some tips. He shared that he watches matches of different countries, but when our Indian team is playing, He watches its match on TV because, what is seen on TV, can’t be seen in the stadium. Before this, whenever he came to Chhattisgarh, he either sat in the car or just returned after participating in the program. He met his fans for the first time in the shopping mall. He avoided the question asked about IPL and said that for the first time, he saw a cricket ground in a mall where children were playing cricket, and didn’t expect that there would be a cricket ground on the last floor of the mall. Kapil Dev said that even before this, He have reached Chhattisgarh many times and got love from the people here, but this time, he experienced different vibes among the people.
After that Padma Bhushan Kapil Dev reached Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital in Raipur. Kapil Dev was moved by the sight of young children with their parents undergoing successful surgeries at the ‘Gift of Life’ event here.
