The 42nd Master’s Athletics Meet, organized by the India Masters Athletics Association, was held in Midnapore, West Bengal from February 11 to February 13. The event was a showcase of exceptional talent from across the country, with athletes from different age groups participating in various categories.

One of the standout performers at the event was Prabha Thakur Hussain, a brave athlete from the Durg district in Chhattisgarh. Prabha put on a stellar performance, securing the first position in the 5km and Long Jump events, and finishing second in the 1500m and third in the 800m events in the 55+ age group.

Prabha’s exceptional performance earned her the title of All India Champion in the 55+ age group, bringing laurels not just to her district, but also to the state of Chhattisgarh. In an interview after her victory, Prabha credited her success to the unwavering support of her family. She expressed gratitude towards her husband Akhtar Hussain, daughter Afreen Hussain, and son Afroz Hussain for their constant encouragement and support.
