Dr. Brijesh Pandey, the Principal of Swami Atmanand Government Excellent English Medium School in Brahmapara, Ambikapur, Surguja, has brought honor to the state of Chhattisgarh on a national scale. In a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, on Teachers’ Day, President Draupadi Murmu bestowed upon him the prestigious National Teacher Award.
Notably, Dr. Brijesh Pandey is the sole educator from Chhattisgarh to be recognized with this distinguished accolade this year, marking a significant milestone in his career. Dr. Pandey, an alumnus of Sainik School, has dedicated his life to the cause of education, exemplifying unwavering commitment and discipline. He holds himself and his fellow educators to high standards, a practice that has yielded promising outcomes. Since 2008, Dr. Brijesh Pandey has served as the Coordinator of the Children’s Science Congress in Surguja. His efforts in fostering a passion for science among children have not only ignited their curiosity but have also paved the way for the emergence of budding scientists. Under his guidance, numerous young talents have showcased their projects at the national level, propelling Chhattisgarh’s representation in the field of science. In 2018, Dr. Pandey was honored with the Governor’s Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to education. He has also played a pivotal role in the development of targeted activity books for primary education. These books are meticulously designed to align with educational goals and are successfully integrated into the curriculum of his school. Thanks to these efforts, students and teachers work collectively to achieve these targets, and this innovative approach has even helped economically disadvantaged students excel academically.
