An aspiring model and an actor: Mr. Akshay Poptani

Meet Mr. Akshay Poptani @akshay_poptani, an aspiring model and an actor.
The shining star of Raipur, who set his foot on modeling and acting after completing his schooling at St. Xavier Senior Secondary School, Dhamtari.

“Life gives you opportunities to realize your dreams, all you need to do is to identify these opportunities and use them wisely.” – says Mr. Akshay.

He participated in and won the first-ever modeling competition of his life, Mr. and Miss Bilaspur 2014. This victory soared his confidence and was marked as the first step toward his dream life.

Furthermore, he participated in many such competitions such as Mr. Platinum of Chhattisgarh 2016 – First runner up and Mr. Chhattisgarh 2017- first runner up. He also did many shoots for Dainik Bhaskar and was also indulged in Make In India shoot project with our very own honorable Chief Minister, Dr. Raman Singh.

The next chapter of his life was Mumbai- The city of dreams. Along with modeling, Akshay also wished to try his hand at acting, for which he completed an acting course in Mumbai. Acting intrigued him and he actively participated in theatre plays and also played the lead in a few of them, including Chandrashekhar Azaad, Saheb Biwi Aur Ghulam, and Hedda Gebler.

He also met filmmakers like Anurag Kashyap and Imtiaz Ali for discussions about filmmaking.

Bollywood journey⠀

His next big leap in life was Bollywood, the heart of aspiring actors in our Mayanagri Mumbai. He started giving auditions for movies and serials like any aspiring actor would do. And this is where he got his first break. A break that not everybody is capable of achieving. A break with the director of blockbusters like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Ek Tha Tiger, Mr. Kabir Khan. He worked with Mr. Kabir Khan in a web series called The Forgotten Army.

Akshay says that The role was not a big one, but a good one. Working with such a famous and talented director in the very first break is an achievement in itself and means a lot.
