Giroudhpuri Dham Balodabazar: Situated at the confluence of Mahanadi and Jonk rivers at a distance of about 40 km from Balodabazar district and about 80 km from Bilaspur district, Giroudhpuri Dham is one of the most respected and prominent pilgrimage sites of the state of Chhattisgarh. A small village where deep connections of spirituality and historical interest are hidden is also the birthplace of the founder of Satnami Guru Ghasidas ji of Chhattisgarh state.

Giroudhpuri Dham Balodabazar: Situated at the confluence of Mahanadi and Jonk rivers at a distance of about 40 km from Balodabazar district and about 80 km from Bilaspur district, Giroudhpuri Dham is one of the most respected and prominent pilgrimage sites of the state of Chhattisgarh. A small village where deep connections of spirituality and historical interest are hidden is also the birthplace of the founder of Satnami Guru Ghasidas ji of Chhattisgarh state. He was born into a farmer family in this region, and one day he became Guru Ghasidas, a respected man of Chhattisgarh. They were brought here by pilgrims to worship at the ‘seat’, which is located next to the jetty pillar. It is also said that he had performed penance for a long time under the Aurdhara tree which is still situated there. This holy place is also known by the name Tapobumene. Charan Kund is a sacred pond and the site of the annual Giraudpuri fair. An ancient Amrit Kund is also located here, whose water is also considered sweet.

 

History of Giroudpuri Dham: This place has a very deep connection with spirituality and history. The most special thing is that it is the birthplace of Guru Ghasidas ji, the founder of the Satnami sect, tourists from India and abroad come here in search of spiritual knowledge. It is also popular about Guru Ghasidas ji that he was born in a very ordinary farmer family. Even today his sitting place is established exactly next to Jaitkham. It is also believed that to attain enlightenment, he performed penance sitting under the Auradhara tree, which is currently known as Tapobhoomi.

 

India’s tallest pillar Jaitkham: It was constructed during the reign of Raman Singh from 2008 to 2012 at a cost of about Rs 50 crore, whose height is about 77 meters i.e. 243 feet, higher than Qutub Minar whose height is 72.5 meters i.e. 237 feet. Is 6 feet high. For Indians, the state of Chhattisgarh is a place whose every step has been blessed by religion and places of faith. Among all these religious places, Girodpuri Dham is a very famous place. This gives an engineering example of a magnificent and unique structure like Jaitkham, this 77-meter-high structure, which is called a miracle of engineering, which people come from far and wide to see, is unique and amazing. As an eternal symbol of the Satnami sect, it fascinates the whole world. This Jaitkham pillar, the tallest in India, attracts so much that people come from far and wide to see it and become crazy about its architecture.

 

 Girodpuri Fair: Equipped with colorful local and cultural traditions, this fair attracts a large number of tourists. One of the main attractions here is the method of worship performed here, where hundreds of people are seen wearing white clothes and performing puja rituals.

 

Amrit Kund: Just 1km from Giroudpuri. The history of a place called Amrit Kund, situated at a distance of 1000 km, is very interesting. It is said that there was a severe shortage of drinking water here, and despite all the efforts of the administration, this problem was not being solved. Then, in order to help the people and get rid of the problem, a local saint used his divine powers and by touching a part of the mountain with his thumb, it turned into a pit from where a stream of fresh water gushed out. And then the pond in which water was stored from here was named Kund Amrit Kund.
