Reincarnating Raipur
On the occasion of National Sports Day, the Adani Foundation organized a race in the villages of Pusaur block of the district to encourage sports among the girls of the area. Under the social concerns of Adani Power Limited, a total of 5 km from Swami Atmanand Vidyalaya located in the nearby Gram Bade Bhandar to the Chowk of Ranbhata village, especially for the girls, in this race of villages like Gram Bade Bhandar, Chhote Bhandar, Siladi, Bunga, Sarwani, etc. More than 100 people participated, including young girls and students from primary and middle schools. National Sports Day is celebrated every year on 29 August to commemorate the birth anniversary of Indian hockey legend Major Dhyanchand. The day is also dedicated to the sports heroes and champions of the country, honoring their contribution and dedication in bringing glory to the country.
In this race, Kumari Dhankunwar Sidar village Siladi got first place, Kumari Pushpa Maitri village Bunaga got second place and Kumari Anita Sidar village Sarwani got third place and were encouraged by giving medals. To encourage sports among girls, the Adani Foundation is also organizing Kabaddi training in the area. In which more than 50 girls are being trained. One of these trainees is Miss Bhumika Sidar, resident of village Bunga, father – Late. Arvind Sidar has been included in the Kabaddi game to be held in Khelo India Rural Indigenous National Games 2023.
The program was organized under the guidance of Shri Prem Kumar Nayak and Ratiram Sidar. To make the program successful, the security team of the plant and the mobile medical team of Helpage India run by the Adani Foundation made a special contribution.
Adani Foundation runs several programs in education, health, livelihood promotion, and infrastructure development under social concerns in the Pusaur and Tamnar development blocks of Raigarh district. Navodaya is also conducting free coaching for the children and youth of the area for quality education and preparation for various competitive examinations.
