Actually, this Shiva temple is situated in Shivkokdi village of Durg district of Chhattisgarh. This Shiva temple is the center of faith of the devotees. Here is the Shivling of Lord Bholenath, which is about eight feet high from the ground floor. In the month of Sawan, the crowd of devotees is also seen in the temple. The Shiva temple situated on the banks of the Amner River is famous all over Chhattisgarh. People come here in large numbers not only from Durg, Bhilai, and Dhamdha but also from other districts of the state to visit the Shivling. People’s wishes are also fulfilled here. Special prayers are offered in the temple on the occasion of Sawan and Mahashivratri. A fair is also held in the temple on this occasion. Seeing the crowd of devotees, the temple has been gradually expanded. Idols of other deities have also been installed in the temple premises.

According to popular legend, the history of the temple is about five hundred years old. At present, the self-manifested Shivling has emerged at the place where the temple is built. Gradually the height of Shivling increased. To the left of the main door of the temple is the Sheetla temple and to the right is the temple of Radhakrishna. Devotees come to offer prayers in both these temples.

Priest Manharan Puri Goswami said the Shivling of the Shiva temple is about five hundred years old. The one who has turned out to be self-sufficient. Its height also increased with time. The wishes of the devotees who come here are also fulfilled. In view of the crowd of devotees, the temple has been expanded.
