The first tennis academy of the state is being set up in Chhattisgarh, about 80 percent of whose construction has been finished. This tennis academy is built on 4 acres, whose cost is about 17 crore 75 lakh rupees. Possibly this Tennis Academy can be initiated in July.
The tennis academy is being built on land near Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur. In this tennis academy, along with synthetic courts, five practice synthetic courts are also being constructed. The synthetic surface of 9 layers of the ultra cushion will be used. It is built in 6038 sq m and has a total seating arrangement of 3000 spectators with 500 VIP seating and parking for 150 cars. Preparations are on to develop this place under the name of ‘Khelgarh’.
A hostel and admin building are being constructed in the Tennis Academy which will be equipped with AC. Indoor games will also be available in the hostel buildings. In which there will be table tennis, carrom, and pool. Also, its ground floor will have two changing rooms, two halls, a reception, and a waiting room. Talking about the first floor, there will be facilities for a dining room, waiting room and gym.
Day night matches will be organized, and 315 KV substations will be installed for power supply along with 400 and 200-watt LED lights for broadcasting night matches, in this tennis academy. Six acres of land are lying vacant within the Tennis Academy, which will be used for sports like a swimming pool, badminton court, volleyball, and table tennis in the coming time.
