Two Students Selected for Google Summer of Code Internship from IIIT-NR

Two students of the Indian Institute and Information Technology Naya Raipur, Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, and Deepanshu Pratik both have been selected for the Google Summer of Code 2023 internship program, GSoC23

An online paid learning program that enables students to perform open-source software projects, GSoc. This program is trending now among tech students, where they collaborate with their mentors and receive exposure to real-world software development and techniques.

And good news for Raipur, two students of the Indian Institute and Information Technology Naya Raipur, Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, and Deepanshu Pratik both have been selected for the Google Summer of Code 2023 internship program, GSoC23.

Just 967 students got selected for the program among 43,765 students from 160 countries. Both students have been selected for the organization CCExtractor Development. A desktop-side component for Linux that lets users connect their VR headsets to a computer, through which both real and virtual views of the PC can be viewed. Where users also get the ease to customize the size of virtual monitors. The main purpose is to create a prototype for early adopters to collaborate with other developers to create something new.

A keyboard-based desktop environment that allows users to learn keyboard shortcuts & workflow for regolith, and working on this kind of desktop application is the project of Deepanshu Pratik at Google. This project will embrace the keyboard-centric approach to work on their computers, helping the user to enhance their efficiency and productivity by depending less on the mouse. To learn various keyboard-based workflows, this application emerges as handy for users.
