KANGER VALLEY NATIONAL PARK; Popular Wildlife Reserve In Chhattisgarh
One of India’s most stunning and gorgeous national parks, Kanger Valley National Park is situated within the 34 km long and breathtaking Kanger Valley, a Biosphere Reserve. The lovely park is situated along the Kholaba River’s banks about 27 kilometres from Jagdalpur, the Bastar region’s capital. The park’s name comes from the Kanger River, which runs throughout its whole length and covers an area of over 200 square kilometers of mostly steep terrain. In 1982, Kanger Valley, which is renowned for its breathtaking scenery and distinct, abundant biodiversity, was designated as a national park. Tribes make up a sizable portion of the population in the Park. The greatest of Chhattisgarh’s wildlife and the distinctive tribes of the area may be found there, making it the perfect location for wildlife enthusiasts, nature lovers, anthropologists, researchers, and anybody else interested in these subjects.
Nature of Kanger Valley National Park’s Flora and Fauna
The majority of the park’s vegetation consists of damp mixed forests with bamboo, teak, and sal trees as the dominant species. In fact, one of the last remaining areas of pristine and unexplored woods is only found in the Kanger Valley in Peninsular India. The Tiger, Leopard, Mouse Deer, Wild Cat, Chital, Sambar, Barking Deer, Jackals, Langurs, Rhesus Macaque, Sloth Bear, Flying Squirrel, Wild Boar, Striped Hyenas, Rabbits, Pythons, Cobra, Crocodiles, Monitor Lizards, and Snakes are just a few of the major wildlife of the Kanger Valley National Park. Hill Myna, Spotted Owlet, Red Jungle Fowls, Racket-tailed Drongos, Peacocks, Parrots, Steppe Eagles, Red Spur Fall, Phakta, and Bhura Teeter are among the park’s avian inhabitants.
Tirathgarh Waterfalls
The Tirathgarh Waterfalls are known as the “Milky Fall” because of the water’s white tint as it cascades down the rocky hill, giving the appearance of milk dropping. One of Chhattisgarh’s most spectacular waterfalls is the picturesque Tirathgarh Falls. It is right across from the Tirathgarh Waterfalls. Beautiful views are provided by the water falling from the hills that surround the falls. On the river Mugabahar, which springs in a lake not far from this location, gushing torrents of water rush down at an astounding rate from a height of more than 100 feet. The beautiful green trees that surround the autumn add to the splendor of the falls.
Kailash Caves
In the vicinity of Mikulwada, in the Kanger Valley National Park, are the Kailash Caves. The caves, which were only recently discovered in 1993, are about 250 meters long and are located 40 meters above sea level. Stalactite and stalagmite formations can be found there, which are breathtaking to view. A huge stalagmite formation in the shape of the Shivlinga is located at the end of the cave and is reached through a small opening. When tapped with a hand, the cave’s hollow walls produce amazing musical sounds.
Kanger Dhara
The Kanger Valley National Park contains Kanger Dhara. It is a wonderful picnic location where both individuals and families can spend time and enjoy themselves. Nice little cascading falls with enough room to enjoy a bath. Additionally, the area offers a stunning view of the Kanger River winding through the forest.
