The use of technology in DRDO of Raipur is continuously increasing. Due to this, many critical projects and guns have started being used. Tejas was developed here only. Many projects of different dimensions are being developed nowadays.

Right now DRDO Team is working on Robot Soldier, with a prime focus on artificial intelligence. Four and two-legged robots are being made. Firstly, assistants to the soldiers will be created, and then they will fight like soldiers. Approximately four to five years will be required for this. All this was told by the Senior Scientist and Director General (ACE) of DRDO, Shailendra V. Gade.

He said, since 2010, work on the Advanced Todd Artillery Gun System was underway. Its trials ended only last year. The Army has placed an order for 307 guns, which will be supplied after some crucial process. It comes with seven Y modules, so far only six modules are loaded in any gun in the world.

The design of the gun is such that the pressure does not allow it to increase, thus the capacity of aggressive projectiles is just to handle the pressure. Currently firing up to 48 km is being done with this projectile, earlier Bofors had a capacity of 32 km. The remaining 52 caliber guns were used to fire up to 42 km. Also, an all-electric drive is being used in it, which is not used in any gun in the world. Hydraulics are also being used in it. Utilizing all this leads to maintenance issues, so to avoid this, no maintenance system technology is adopted. A successful trial has already taken place in the army as well.

On the question of reducing the cost of the product, he said – the number of productions will have to be increased to reduce the cost. If we want to make 1000 units of a product, we can hire the industry, but if we want to make 100 units of the same thing, the industry will deny making it. That’s why the involvement of the industry has not been a concern for us.
