Filmmakers these days are liking the beautiful places and people of Chhattisgarh. This is the reason why artists have started coming and going to the state for some time now.
Impressed by the beauty of Chhattisgarh, artists from New Zealand have arrived for the shooting of the short film named Medicine. The shooting went on for the week in the Arang, area adjacent to Raipur.
The story of the film stars New Zealand superstar George in the lead role. The entire shooting of the 15-minute short film has been done in Sandi, Kukra, Chandkhuri, and Arang villages adjacent to Raipur. Chhattisgarhi dialect will be heard along with English in the film. Vikas Jain told that during the shooting in Chandkhuri, artists from New Zealand visited Mata Kaushalya Temple and were greatly impressed by the story of the temple. The film will be screened at international film festivals by December this year.
Amit Jain, who is handling the shooting, told that the story of the film is based on the innocent people of Chhattisgarh who want to help everyone. He told that in the story two foreign tourists come to India, having their own created perception towards India. Meanwhile, during the journey, they meet some passengers from Chhattisgarh on the bus and eventually try to know more deeply about the people of India and Chhattisgarh.
This short film features 40 actors including child artists Pihu Sahu, Darshan Jain, Dipti, and Khyati. Pihu Sahu and Darshan Jain have worked on big projects in Chhattisgarhi and Hindi cinema before. Darshan Jain has played the childhood character of filmmaker Mana Qureshi in four films.
In the Ashutosh Rana starring web series The Great Indian Murder which was released last year, Darshan played the role of Ashutosh Rana’s grandson. Darshan has played the role of Swara Bhaskar’s son in her upcoming web series Miss Falani (Hindi web series). At the same time, Pihu Sahu has also worked in Bollywood as well as in Chhollywood.
