Q) Some basic knowledge of dental filling and its types?
1. Dental amalgams, or silver fillings, have been used to fill cavities for many years. It’s durable and
less expensive than other types but due to its poor aesthetics, involving the destruction of more tooth structure, discoloration, and susceptibility to cracks and fractures of teeth, it is outdated in most the places
2. Composite fillings, or white fillings, or laser fillings, are popular because the color matches the rest of your teeth. They are more aesthetically pleasing than silver fillings. It’s common these days
3. Ceramic fillings are durable and visually appealing but they are expensive. They are made of porcelain and be resistant to staining.
4. Glass ionomers are typically used on children whose teeth are changing. The benefit of these fillings is that they release fluoride, which protects the changing tooth from further decay.
Don’t go for gold fillings While they are durable, non-corrosive, and can last for many years still it is expensive
