CM Bhupesh Inaugurated Weaver Gudi in Achhota; Women are Becoming Financially Empowered

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has introduced Weaver Gudi to the members of the committee so that it becomes easier for the members to work. For this, the members associated with the handloom industry thanked the Chief Minister for making him a skilled craftsperson from a common laborer.

Lakshmi Dewangan, a resident of Achhota village of Dhamtari, used to work as a laborer a few years ago, but due to physical difficulties, she had to leave this work. After this Lakshmi came to know about Chief Minister Kaushal Vikas Yojana. Lakshmi took a four-month training in the handloom industry here and installed a handloom machine at her home.

Lakshmi started getting work through Maa Angarmoti Weavers Cooperative Society Maryadit Achhota and now Lakshmi is earning thousands of rupees every month sitting at home. In this committee, 97 women like Lakshmi are writing a new story of economic empowerment in the rural environment by joining the handloom industry.

Till now the work was done individually by the weavers in the homes of the members of the committee. Due to a lack of space in the homes of many group members, the work could not be conducted properly. To overcome this problem, a handloom unit has been set up in Achhota Gauthan under Mahatma Gandhi Industrial Park Scheme.
