Community: Distributing Happiness, One Medal at A Time

Not just the trophy, call it an innovative one as we try to carve Bastar art in the trophies giving it a Chhattisgarh accent.

While generation Xers struggle to move up the corporate ladder because Baby Boomers aren’t retiring as early as planned. Those who fall under Generation Y have been making their income in innovative ways. For many of them, that means entrepreneurship. This article is no different, talking about the young entrepreneur of Raipur, Mr. Rishabh Barlota. He is inspiring and helps others realize that it’s neither never too late nor too early to pursue one’s dreams of being a business owner. It all started, when I saw every other person doing the same kind of business, but wanted to become that 24-year boy, which other 24-year boys would look for.

Thus chose the new innovative start-up rather than joining my family business of plastic polythene. But mere thinking was not going to help so started visiting different markets of Raipur and finally after a lot of market research came up with the idea of creating personalized mementos and gifting solutions, which was unique for Chhattisgarh.

My journey

To shape my dream startup into reality, I started meeting vendors from Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata attended many expos, and created healthy contacts. From then onwards I started my business on a wholesale basis, with trophies ranging from INR 12 to INR 10,000. Not just the trophy, call it an innovative one. We try to carve Bastar art in the trophies giving it a Chhattisgarh community accent.

Earlier I have been into personalized gifting solutions like gifts such as teddy bears inside balloons, then creating photos. Also, names on rose petals can be kept fresh for a year, and roses in rainbow colors. Again all were unique in the market. But all these were my experiences. From these have learned a lot and got the courage to start my wholesale idea.

As of now, all my focus has been shifted to generating employment opportunities and helping people to set up their businesses. Recently, I have helped people to stop their business in Kawardha, Raipur, Bilaspur, and Balaghat The happiest people I know are those who lose themselves in the service of others

The above quote made a deep mark inside was so touched that I started thinking of helping the community. All the front-line workers, who worked for society risking their lives, came up with the idea of expressing gratitude through my trophies.

So, I have planned on distributing 10.000 medals to the state employees who have served the nation during this tough lockdown period. I hope to inspire a lot of people through this act.

Last but not the least, Life is simply too short to be bored or miserable (or both) for such a large portion of the time you spend away. You deserve to have work that fulfills you and taps into your passions, that brings you joy for the most part, anyway.
