CM inaugurates CG state’s first sugarcane-based ethanol plant

Chhattisgarh’s Government is set to inaugurate the state’s inaugural sugarcane-based ethanol plant on Tuesday. Situated in Ramhepur village, the facility has been constructed at a cost of ₹141 crore.

This venture represents a collaborative effort between the Bhoramdev Cooperative Sugar Factory and NKJ Biofuels Limited, a subsidiary of Chhattisgarh Distilleries Limited, operating under a public-private partnership.

Anticipated to generate both direct and indirect employment opportunities in the local area, the ethanol plant aims to contribute to regional economic development. Furthermore, it is designed to facilitate timely payments to sugarcane farmers for their produce.Distinguished by its hybrid technology, the plant can produce ethanol from sugarcane juice during the crushing season and molasses during the off-season. This versatility is expected to boost sugarcane cultivation, meeting the increased demand for sugarcane juice required for ethanol production.

The inauguration of this ethanol plant marks a significant achievement in Chhattisgarh’s ongoing efforts to advance its ethanol industry.
