Meet Dolly Badlani
A painter and bridal mehendi artist by profession. She has completed her schooling from Laxmi Narayan School, Raipur and college from Chhattisgarh College, Raipur. Growing up Dolly didn’t have a lot of friends in school and prefered being more on her own, so art became her escape. She has always found happiness and satisfaction in art.

Her interest started when she was in 10th grade, and went to “Akaar” for creative workshops. There, the teachers were so impressed with her paintings and work, that she started teaching to paint two hundred students there. After graduating from college, she worked as an art teacher in many schools and also worked with a paint light company, where they conducted free art classes in various schools and colleges. She was a part of a NGO as well, where she taught painting to deaf and dumb kids. Dolly loved being a part of that institution and found the kids there more respectful than in ordigany schools.

Currently, she takes classes at her home. She’s very passionate about her work and is in this field for the past 15 years now. Dolly has won many national level competitions and exhibitions, some of them which were held in Nepal, Indore and Jaipur. Now, she gets invited as a judge in many competitions and exhibitions. She finds inspiration for her paintings from the smallest of the objects around and portraying nature around on her canvas is her favourite thing to do.

She didn’t have a lot of support during her journey and that’s why she “live and let live” is the mantra of her life. Being an artist in India is hard, and one shouldn’t judge others for doing what they love. Rather they should be supported and their work should be appreciated. She believes that as a true artist, it’s not important how much money you make but rather what you give to the society. Full of positivity and charisma, we hope your day is as wonderful as you are!
