Tribal dictionary prepared in Chhattisgarh, now children will read in their dialect

Tribal children will now be able to get an education in their dialect. Various dictionary books have been prepared in dialects like Gondi, Halbi, Bhatri, Sargujia, Korwa, Pando, Kudukh Kamari, etc. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had announced that children would be taught in their dialect.

The National Education Policy says that children have to be taught in the local dialect only. The Tribal and Scheduled Castes Development Department has prepared a dictionary of tribal dialects for this.

In this, various dictionary books have been prepared in dialects like Gondi, Halbi, Bhatri, Sargujia, Korva Pando, Kudukh, Kamari, etc.

These books will be used for the education of children in schools. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced on 20 January 2020 that the children of the state would be taught in their dialect. Given this, the Tribal and Scheduled Castes Development Department has prepared such dictionaries.

Department director and commissioner Shammi Abidi said that a memorial-cum-museum is being constructed on 10 acres of land at a cost of about Rs 25 crore 66 lakh in memory of state martyr Veeranarayan Singh at Purkhauti Muktangan in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar.

In this, the researchers and common people of the state and the country will get a direct introduction to the freedom fighters of the tribal class of the state. These dictionaries and books will be kept in them.

So many tribes live in the state

There are 42 notified tribes and their sub-groups living in the state. The most populous tribe of the state is the Gond, which is spread all over the state. In the northern region of the state, where Oraon, Kanwar, and  Pando tribes live, in the  South Bastar region, tribes like Madia, Muria, Dhurva, Halba, Abujhmadia, and  Dorla are in majority.

The tribes in the state have a rich cultural heritage which is expressed through their daily life, festival,s and religious rituals. Ghotul tradition, tattoo culture, and major dances of tribes like Bastar, Gaur, Karma, Kaksar, Shaila, Sarhul, Parab, etc. are popular among the masses.

Tribal Research and Training Institute has compiled them in the form of a book after surveying them. These include traditional songs, music, instruments, dance, etc. of the tribes.

Tribal cookbook

A book on tribal cuisine has been prepared by the department. In this, information about main dishes like puri, arsa, chausela, sohri, muthiya, Panna, chutney, Chapada, bhaji, mahua lata, Landa, Hadiya, etc. will be given.

A dictionary has been created for information on tribal independence people, art culture, tribal cuisine, and local dialect.
