Celebrating Women’s Empowerment: The Pink Marathon and Pushpa Holi in Bhilai

 

Women in Chhattisgarh’s Bhilai Township city celebrated International Women’s Day with a Pink Marathon and Pushpa Holi on 5th March. Over 500 women and girls from Durg Bhilai participated in the event, which was a celebration of women’s empowerment. The top 50 participants received medals and certificates for their outstanding performance.

The Pink Marathon and Pushpa Holi were organized by Vashishtha Narayan Mishra, a senior councillor of Bhilai Municipal Corporation. Durg SP Dr Abhishek Pallav was the chief guest at the event, alongside Traffic DSP Satish Thakur and Shilpa Sahu.

The marathon began at 7 am from Sector 1 BSNL Chowk and went to Sector 4 before returning to Sector 1 Chowk. Women from different age groups participated in the marathon, showcasing their determination and fitness while wearing Pink Marathon T-shirts, which were given to them during the registration process. The event also featured a performance by children wearing skating gear, who skated alongside the women, adding to the excitement of the event.

After the marathon, women played Pushpa Holi with herbal gulal and flowers. Milk and poha were also distributed to all the participants,

The Pink Marathon and Pushpa Holi were meaningful and unique ways to celebrate Women’s Day in Bhilai. The event promoted the empowerment and health of women, while also highlighting the importance of celebrating women’s achievements. The organizers deserve commendation for their efforts in organizing such an event, and we hope that similar events will be organized in the future, inspiring women to take charge of their health and well-being.
