Alisha Behura-The dancing queen

Meet the dancing queen Alisha @alisha_behura. She started her dancing journey at the tender age of 3 years with her mother, who is an Odissi dancer, as her first teacher. With a supportive family who saw her flair for dancing very soon, she began proper dance training at the age of 5. She started off with western dance forms but soon followed her mother’s footsteps and ventured into classical dance forms. Alisha is a trained Latin-American ballroom dancer and holds a diploma in Bharatanatyam.⁣

She started competing at a very young age and won her first award at the age of 4. She participated in the Sub-junior competition for Latin American dance form and won a gold medal at the age of 6. Alisha went on to compete in national level competitions at Kolkata, Delhi, Mysore, Mumbai and many more. She also competed at the national level for classical dance. She won most of the competitions that she stood in the year 2015, Alisha was announced as the first ever winner of “ So You Think You Can Dance”.⁣

Alisha started assisting ace choreographer Bosco Martis after her win in 2015, and has been working under him ever since. Recently, she choreographed the female lead parts of two songs from the movie “ sonu ke tittu ki sweety ”. She has been managing her studies and her career very well and has been taught to do so from a very young age, when she had to manage both early morning school and late night dance practices. ⁣

Alisha’s dream is to become an actress and wants a career in Bollywood. She has been able to achieve all this due to her family support along with the immeasurable talent. Even though her days are physically challenging she feels that she is never mentally worn out, and believes that no matter how much struggle comes her way she wouldn’t bend under its burden because she is following her passion.⁣
