Ensuring Women’s Safety

Deputy CM Vijay Sharma emphasized the importance of these dedicated police stations during a departmental meeting held at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan. He stated that the Pink Police Stations are designed to provide a secure space where women can report crimes and seek help without hesitation. Departmental preparations are already underway, and an action plan is being meticulously crafted to ensure the swift implementation of this initiative.

Reviewing Infrastructure and Safety

In addition to discussing the Pink Police Stations, Deputy CM Sharma reviewed the progress of 258 roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). These roads, incomplete for the past five to six years due to Naxalite activities and security issues, are crucial for the connectivity and development of rural areas. Sharma directed the District Collector and Superintendent of Police to expedite the completion of these roads, ensuring better accessibility and safety for the residents.

Empowering Self-Help Groups

The Deputy CM also touched on the importance of empowering self-help groups (SHGs) in Chhattisgarh. He urged the concerned departments to upload SHG products on online platforms for better branding and marketing. Additionally, Sharma proposed the creation of a dedicated application to further facilitate the promotion of SHG products. This initiative aims to boost the income and visibility of local SHGs, thereby contributing to the state’s economic growth.

Investigations and Payment Reviews

Further, Deputy CM Sharma reviewed the status of investigations by the committee led by the Chief Secretary regarding the Rural Industrial Park Authority (RIPA). He also assessed the payment status to self-help groups, ensuring that all financial transactions are up-to-date and transparent.

Conclusion

With these comprehensive measures, Chhattisgarh is taking significant strides towards ensuring women’s safety, improving infrastructure, and empowering local communities. The establishment of Pink Police Stations marks a pivotal step in creating a safer and more inclusive environment for women across the state.
