Recently, Raksha, a prized white tigress from Maitri Bagh, was exchanged with Jaya from Raipur Jungle Safari to enhance genetic diversity on March 21. Jaya, approximately four years old, underwent a secure transfer to Maitri Bagh, maintaining strict protocols. Despite the exchange, Maitri Bagh continues to house nine white tigers. Notably, Raksha, a mother of three cubs born six months ago, has contributed to the zoo’s breeding program, highlighting its success in preserving this majestic species.
