Meet Atul Pal

Meet Atul Pal a rare combination of cricketer and a law student

Born in Allahabad to an Indian Army officer, started playing cricket in Rachi at the age of just four years. After his father left the army, they came to Raipur where his professional career began, when he played under 19. He has played various games on different levels. Right now he is the Ranji Trophy Squad but was not able to play much as he got severely injured last year.

He says that History is his love after cricket. He has always been a decent student since childhood and his father knew that he could keep up with his studies and sports simultaneously. He pursued graduation from Hindu University. Right now he is pursuing post-graduation in History from an open college along with graduation in law.

He right now is focused on his cricket career but still is studying law. He knows that he can’t play cricket his whole life and, for a secure future, he needs to build a separate career. He manages both the things as he has the will and resources to do it. He says that without will you can’t do anything.

He likes to keep learning new things every day. When he gets free from his practice, he puts the extra hours into studies. A person can study for 12-14 hours a day. You can’t push your body for extra hours while playing.

He doesn’t like reading fiction as he says that it’s nothing but the writer telling just a story. He loves to read about facts and the world. He says that knowledge makes him feel empowered. Diplomacy by Harry Kissinger, The Most Dangerous Place by Srinath Raghvan and India Since Independence by Bipin Chandra are few of his favourite books.

His current goal is to establish himself in the First-Class cricket. He aims to live his life to the fullest because you have just one life, and you got to enjoy it. If you keep worrying about the small things, you can’t ‘live’,

Happy birthday to such an amazing personality.
