Voting Schedule and Timings for Chhattisgarh Lok Sabha Elections Phase 2

In the second phase of Lok Sabha elections in Chhattisgarh, voting is scheduled for April 26 for the Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund, and Kanker seats. The Central Election Commission has announced the voting timings for each constituency. Polling will take place from 7 am to 6 pm in several assembly constituencies under Rajnandgaon and Mahasamund Lok Sabha constituencies. However, in the Mohla-Manpur assembly constituency, voting will conclude at 3 pm. Similarly, polling in some Bindranavagarh Assembly Constituency polling stations will end at 3 pm, while the rest will continue until 6 pm. Voting will occur from 7 am to 6 pm in designated assembly constituencies for the Kanker Lok Sabha constituency. However, in Antagarh, Bhanupratappur, Kanker, and Keshkal assembly constituencies, polling will conclude at 3 pm.

Chhattisgarh Government Grants Salary Increase to Retiring Employees

Chhattisgarh government has issued a directive benefiting government employees retiring on June 30. As per the order, those retiring on June 30 will be retired on July 1 with one increment, leading to a salary increase. The Finance Department has consistently communicated this directive to departments, and the Urban Administration Department has recently instructed all state bodies accordingly. Extended OTS Application Deadline Amid Lok Sabha Elections

In a bid to ease concerns for traders during the Lok Sabha elections, Chhattisgarh has extended the opportunity for One-Time Settlement (OTS) applications, even on holidays. The state government has permitted applications on March 30th and 31st, consecutive government holidays, ensuring accessibility for taxpayers. The deadline for applying under the Chhattisgarh Tax Arrears Settlement Act (OTS) has been extended until March 31, 2024. This move aims to accommodate traders and taxpayers, allowing them to benefit from the OTS scheme without hindrance. The extension underscores the government’s commitment to facilitating financial ease and compliance among businesses

CSVTU to Introduce Civil Engineering Studies and Expand Technical Courses

Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU) is set to introduce Civil Engineering studies in its University Teaching Department (UTD) with 60 available seats. Admission for 30 seats will be through the Pre Engineering Test (PET), while the remaining 30 seats will be allocated based on Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main scores. Additionally, B. Pharmacy courses will commence in the campus from the next session. The university also plans to increase seats in technical courses like pharmacy, MCA, and MBA, with proposals received from colleges for seat expansion and new course offerings. PET applications are open until April 7th, with the exam scheduled for June 6.

Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association to Hold Women’s Cricket Trials Across Five Districts

Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association (CSCS) will conduct women’s cricket player selection trials on April 7, covering Under-15, Under-19, Under-23, and Senior age groups across five districts. Cut-off dates for participation are specified: Under-15 (born between September 1, 2009, and August 31, 2011), Under-19 (born on or after September 1, 2005), and Under-23 (born on or after September 1, 2001). Players must register online with their respective district association and attend trials dressed in colorful attire with their cricket kit. The trials will utilize white balls. Trial locations include New Cricket Ground Kanker, Digvijay Stadium Rajnandgaon, RDCA Ground Raipur, Raj Raghuraj Singh Stadium Bilaspur, and Mahatma Gandhi Stadium Ambikapur.
