Indian musicians Falguni Shah and Rickey Kej lift trophies at Grammy Awards 2022.
Indian-American musician Falguni Shah, was feted with the honor for Best Children’s Music Album. She is known by her stage name Falu, She won it for her album ‘A Colorful World’ at the 64th annual Grammy Awards.
Falguni is a New York-based musician. She has in the past, worked with A.R. Rahman in ‘Slumdog Millionaire’. She received her early training in music under the legendary sarangi and vocal master Ustad Sultan Khan in Mumbai
Bengaluru boy Ricky Kej picked up his second Grammy Award on Sunday for Divine Tides. It is an album he collaborated on with Stewart Copeland, founder and drummer of the iconic rock band The Police. They won in the Best New Age Album category at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards.
Ricky won his first Grammy in 2015 for his album Winds of Samsara’ in the Best New Age Album category.
With his second win, Ricky Kej joins a rarefied group that includes Ravi Shankar, Zubin Mehta, Zakir Hussain, AR Rahman, and other Indian winners.
Music maestro AR Rahman also marked his presence at the 64th Grammy Awards in Las Vegas. He attended the music industry’s biggest night with his son AR Ameen.
The 64th Grammy Awards ceremony was held on 3rd April 2022, in Las Vegas. This year, Jon Batiste won big as he bagged the Album of the year award. Olivia Rodrigo won the Best New Artist while Silk Sonic won the Song of the Year as well as Record of the year.
