Meet Kritika Pandey:

Born and brought up in Ambikapur, Ms. Kritika Pandey is a social activist whose main aim is to raise the standards of girls and women in Chhattisgarh. She graduated from Rungta College, Bhilai with a degree in BBA and further went on to pursue a degree in Law from Kalinga University, Raipur.

Kritika has had leadership skills since her school time. In 2007, whilst she was in school she worked with UNICEF under Mayaram Srujan Foundation. She interviewed labor kids around her area and the then collector and CM regarding child labor issues the articles were featured in the Baal Swaraj magazine. She even went to Delhi to represent Raipur.

Her biggest challenge was in the year 2014 when she was just 21 and got a chance to stand in the Parshad election in Nagar Nigam Elections. Three years back, she had got laser surgery done and people had misused her photos and spoke ill about how she used connections to get a ticket at such a young age. Kritika quotes, “This incident broke her completely but also, made her the strongest”.

Kritika describes herself as a very emotional and empathetic person and it is these factors that bring out the will to help others. She’s also very chirpy and loves talking to people and being connected with them. Where she might be extra pampered and protected, she can become the mom of the group when it comes to her friends.

Apart from helping people in the NGO, spending time with her family makes her the happiest. Even if she can be the smallest help to anyone, it makes her day. She believes in earning goodwill and doing something for everyone. She says, “If you’re there for people in their time of need, then only will they be there for you”. Karma is her life’s philosophy.

Her main aim is in making a difference and she has been a voice to many unheard voices. She requests people to support activists. We are grateful to have strong women like you!
